The island of Easter, is a triangle of 26 km by 17 km and 14 km, and the underwater bottom of the three coasts is very different and variable. The North Coast has numerous coral formations on a sandy bottom. The beaches of Anakena and Ovahe are suitable for snorkeling. The East Coast, more exposed to winds and storm surges, is the alternative area for diving when the north wind blows.
We find along its 26 km infinite lava fields adorned with few corals. The West Coast, where the village of Hanga Roa is located, is the most attractive for the practice of autonomous diving because it has a colossal underwater relief covered by numerous coral formations.
This service is delivered in Spanish and English, and can be for beginners as well as for experts, so it is not necessary to have the PADI license to perform it. Includes suit and oxygen. It does not include any box lunches. Passengers are suggested before diving, eating something light.
Depending on the expertity of the passenger, they are the meters that can be lowered, starting from about 5 meters. And the service in total lasts approx. 3 hours.
In the diving program, passengers will be able to make as many dives as they want, in different places on the coast, which will be an overwhelming and fascinating experience. This, because the island presents an underwater topography composed of caverns, arches, cliffs and lava platforms, ideal environment to know a lot of corals and tropical fish, and enjoy the color and clarity of its waters. Finally, we will return to our hotel on Easter Island.
