One hour later, we will navigate Señoret Channel, Eberhard Fiord and Ultima Esperanza. After two hours of navigation from Natales Port, under normal conditions, we will reach the “Cormoranes” Colony, having hundreds of these birds, resembling penguins. As we get nearer the Fiord, the landscape becomes wilder and more attractive, for its vigorous mountains.
Now we have majestic Balmaceda Mount before us, as well as the glacier bearing the same name, being detached from the eastern side. This mount is 2035 m high and there are very few antecedents of its having been climbed up to its main peak. The above-mentioned glacier is in recession as nearly all glaciers on the planet. Lunch Included. Overnight in Puerto Natales. ( B, L )
Day 4 El Calafate Argentina
The tour starts early in the morning with the first light of day. This time crossing between Chile and Argentina does not mean crossing the Andes, as in the Patagonia mountain range that forms part of the Patagonian archipelago.
Therefore, after crossing the border the dominant landscape is the vast and windswept steppes. During the tour, you can view the distance to Lake Argentino and the Santa Cruz River on their way to the Atlantic Ocean.
After arrival in Calafate, we start the trip to the Perito Moreno glacier. Once inside the park will be possible to recruit direct navigation of 45 minutes it approaches the southern wall of the glacier, later on, enter the gateway area where through a series of stairs connecting different viewpoints the ice giant can be seen.
